Been away from the site for awhile because a) I’ve been super busy with work and b) haven’t done anything interesting (because of reason a).
Let’s backtrack a bit… Griffin’s birthday was mid-May and as a birthday gift I took him to see Spamalot since he’s a Monty Python fan on Memorial Day weekend. The musical was a lot of fun and he (not me) picked up on a lot of one line-ers from Flying Circus. All in all it was a fun show. On Memorial Day we enjoyed a BBQ with most of the Mines alumni that live in the Bay Area on the Stanford campus. It was good to catch up with everyone and hear where life is taking them.

This weekend we had been looking forward to going to the newly re-opened Academy of Sciences in Golden Gate Park. As San Francisco residents we get two weekends per year where our neighborhood recieves free admission. The museum was okay in my opinion. The building is amazing and the exhibits were pretty well done. Not the best I’ve seen though. I think the problem is the museum is half aquarium/zoo and half natural history museum. I enjoyed the trip but I don’t think I’ll pay to go back.

We were unexpectedly invited to see Wicked on Saturday night (!!!) with one of Griffin’s ex-lab-mates and his fiance. We had wanted to see the show but were discouraged by the ridiculous ticket prices. Our host’s original guests couldn’t make it so we were the lucky stand-ins. The show was amazing. By far the most elaborate production I’ve ever seen and a very talented cast. The story line is great and I’m looking forward to reading the book. I had placed it on hold though the library a week or two ago thinking that it was as close as I was going to get to the show. I’m glad I was wrong!
Dear Audrey,
Please write more often. Since they moved me into town, I have lots and lots of conference calls with the slope. Thus, I have a fair amount of “surf time”…
