Somehow I strained something in my right hip while working out on Tuesday. I was doing both squats and deadlifts so I’m not sure which one did it but probably squatting as I was trying a new wider stance and using a fair amount of weight. What I do know for sure is that it doesn’t feel good.
I think (granted I have absolutely no medical training) that it was either my iliacus or psoas major muscles (highlighted in yellow here). I basis this guess off of where the pain is and that it hurts worse when my back is stretched (i.e. rolling my neck forward and looking down at the ground).
Sitting has been very uncomfortable along with walking long distances. I’ve also seemed to have some nerve like issues with pain radiating down my leg so maybe I tweaked some nerves in my back too. Either way I’m taking it very easy for a while.
I’ve have been incredibly thankful for my sit-stand desk this week though. Although I think it tripped the breaker in our 1950’s code office wiring when I was trying to raise it and shutdown 4 people’s computers.
