Rules at the Gym

A couple guidelines that are good to go by at the gym. I saw people breaking all of these this week:

  • Don’t talk on your cell phone. (Come on, seriously.)
  • Don’t do bicep curls in the squat rack. (Especially when I’m obviously waiting to use one. You don’t need a squat rack to do bicep curls, but I need a squat rack to do… wait for it… squats!)
  • Don’t talk to people who are obviously aren’t in the gym to chat, especially when they are in the middle of an exercise. (What muscle does that work? My posterior deltoid. Is it a good exercise? *in my head* No, dufuss, I just do it because I think it looks cool. Do I have a plan when I work out? Of course, and *in my head* it doesn’t involve talking to you while I’m in the middle of a set. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind answering honest questions about what I’m doing or why I’m doing it, usually people are curious because they’ve never seen it before, but at least wait until I’m done with my set!)

Today was my first week on my new workout plan. Four days of total body workouts is pretty brutal. I feel like someone detached my hamstrings from my legs, took about 2″ off of them and then reattached them to my legs. Pretty sore. We’ll see how well I hold up. Griffin is opposed to me doing 4 days of total body (I think he feels threatened by how hardcore I am) but I’m going to give it a shot.
